Through whatever changes have been going on the gaming market, Counter-Strike 1 & 2 are still the most popular game, including other big titles like World of Warcraft, Call of Duty, etc~ in your personal experience, why do you think that is? I haven't played it as much as some of the rest of you have but what do you give to the hype of it all?

I not sure why it holds on, I'd say addiction, but I've played it before for a while back when it was free, I didn't get into it, and now with the newer versions and the CS2 version, I still don't get the hype over it. But, it definitely has held its ground... I think ppl think it is really fast paced, more so than BF or the like, and they want that in a game, but I'd dare say that CoD can be fast, so can BF(depending on maps). I've yet to play Return to Castle Wolfenstein, so can say anything towards that game. WoW I can understand, though they have some issues the game is still fun to play. Guild Wars... well I think that is just because it is new and there is major hype over it atm. Warcraft III... well it has massive mod support so there is always something new to do with it, and it is actually fun. From LAN experiences, we can all conclude that. Haven't played America's Army so dunno about it. BF1942... well you still have the hardcore BF addicts, they are going to play till BF2 comes out imo.

Believe what you want about Guild Wars, it's a great game but only time will tell my friend. Counter-Strike and WoW don't really suprise me, warcraft 3 kinda did, didn't really expect to see it on the list.
