Crytek is releasing another game this year, similar to FarCry. The difference is this time, they've written another engine, advancement on their CryEngine. Essentially, 2 times better...and you've got to be asking how is that possible? I dunno but the demo video sure looks good.

I still consider FarCry as one of the best looking games out there and it's many of years old and about to get replaced by its own maker. They're writing it in DirectX10 even...

No, I haven't been able to afford to upgrade my PC to anything that can run it properly. I'm sure it would run on very low settings, but I'm just going to wait till I get through with this year, so my income will be stable enough to upgrade my PC to exactly what I want. It looks good from what I've seen though. Everyone says the game play is awesome. I want to get Hellgate London soon.

I bought Razer's new sound card to replace Creative's horrible service and drivers so if I could make myself blow $400-600 on a video card, I'd be decently set. It will be just like FarCry though in terms of popularity because so many people won't be able to run it. Majority of people still can't run FarCry...

played it, it's ok. dumb plot. physics=awsome, graphics are rediculous (considering most benchmark site's top rigs can barely run it at max settings)

After finally trying it, I'm very impressed. The weapons and vehicle control is very percise yet difficult to learn, taking all luck out of the game. You can react with ANYTHING in the game that you would consider playing with. You can't exactly pull grass yet but its not far away.

Image

The Radeon HD4850 can run the game at 1920x1200 with all settings on Medium and hold steady at 55% GPU usage. My system can't capture video very well without the processor jumping from 60% to 100% and causing mad lag but I took a few xfire vids and screenshots.

I've done the basics, which include using a machine gun to clear a small jungle forest, as you can see above. It's neat to find a game which has true cause and effect. You can literally make a tree fall a specific direction and fall killing a horde of men.

Other screenshots, including my Hummer with spinnaz, are in my xfire profile.

Crysis Warhead comes out this week, September 16, 2008. It does not require the original game to play and looks to be pretty good. Retail price is $35 but you can grab it for $25 at Circuit City this week, which I will do since I enjoyed Crysis.
