Dunno if any of you other than Yeormom has played the Demo. Pretty good, the assault mode as well as the other new weapons and vehicles makes it worth a look into buying. I have the 2k3 version, and thought it was uber, so if the whole game of 2k4 adds as much as the demo suggests to gameplay, I think we have another good game on our hands to play. :D

What do you think?

It isn't adding anything...all those features were in the original Unreal Tournament...they just slacked up and didn't put them in 2003 so they're fixing lag now with it in 2004.

Ic, I skipped over Unreal Tournament 'Classic', so the assault mode was there? Interesting. well still with the upgrade in technology and how everything is presented now, I still vote 2k4 a much needed improvement to 2k3.

UT2K4 looked sweet, when I saw it played at SELAN. I played around with the demo a month or two ago, I liked UT better without the vehicles. Having vehicles in the game makes it to much like Halo.

Well I never had a problem with HALO on Xbox so UT2k4 doesn't bother me in that respect, though I do consider the vehicles as hard to drive as HALO for the computer, I've found that a good controller will fix that and make if feel more like Xbox version. Dunno, it isn't just the vehicles that make the game good, so still with the new weapons, such as the sniper rifle in assault mode make it interesting. You can get very accurate running around sniping at ppl on the move. Tougher than camping, cuz you can't camp on that map and expect to win.

I didnt have a problem with HALO either, Im just saying that the vehecials make UT2K4 too much like HALO. I like the vehecials in HALO, but having them in UT2K4 takes away from the game for me, personally.

Well my idea is that they are there if you want them and not if you don't cuz you can always opt to not play the gametype that has them as the powernode mode is the only mode on the demo that has them. I'd have to check the full version to confirm this, but seems true, and if you can have vehicles on other modes of play, I'm sure you can turn them off. UT2k3 and 2k4 both seem to have customization down pretty good. I think that it is just something that newer FPS(HALO,BF1942,etc) have and the UT crew wanted to cash in on it, since it seemed to be popular.

But I've been playing CTF and the regular deathmatch without vehicles and still find the game very cool. I hope that uber heat seeking rocket pack is on the other modes of play in the full version, cuz it is only on that powernode mode in the demo, probably cuz of the vehicles. Yeormom pointed out off the forums that UT2k4 had over 100 maps. Haven't confirmed this, but if he is right that's could be alot of diversity, if there is a good bit of difference btw most of the maps.
