My Vote would be Everquest! I have played it for over 4 years off and on and I think it is hands down the best RPG out there, WoW might give it a run for its money but i think only EQ 2 will ever top the orginal

Yes everquest was great. I played for 2yrs (somewhere about that time) and I loved most every min of it. But it was only great in the beginning, when the a new server was created and everyone was running around with nothing but leather and bone chips. Everquests downfall was Luclin and mass plat buying. After Luclin came out, the time of the 'twink' dawned and the game was then no fun... for me atleast.

I hope WC3 will give Eq more that just a run for its money.

WC3 Jimmy? Maybe World of Warcraft...

I enjoyed EverQuest for a couple years until the expansions ruined the game. EverQuest always had a graphic problem with a large memory leak throughout the game and EverQuest II looks to further that problem with the trillions of pixels they appear to have. I'm thinking that World of Warcraft is gonna steal most of EQ2's market because it will be out this year and have an engine that everyone can play on, even dialups. We shall soon see.

My vote would be EQ though. Just wait until our hard core DnDers get ahold of this.

Yeah, Baldur's Gate (DND game) is one of the best RPG for PC. Then Final Fantasy 6,7,8 some of the best for consoles. But the best RPG so far in my experience with RPGs would be XenoGears (PSX), very well made game by SquareSoft(Square-Enix now).

Now Now, before you go off on me. MMORPG are another genre IMO because they have aspects of gameplay that Single-Player RPGs can't offer. Therefore. EQ would probably be the best MMORPG out at this time. Though I never got into that craze. I have played for approximately 2 hours on a friends account(Jeff).

Baldur's Gate has to be the gayest game ever. I think a RPG is an RPG. The only difference is single player games never amount to anything. Who's with me?

Im with you. I have played some of both worlds, as far as computer games go. Never been crazy eneough to do pen and paper RPGs. Single Player PRGs bite, I played one called Morrowind for a while and it only gets suckier as you go along.

I dont think Morrowind was that good either, but I don't have it and only played it a little bit. As for opinion on Baldur's Gate, that's fine, but it had the best story line of all the PC RPGs I've played. Diablo,Icewind Dale, Icewind Dale 2, Morrowind, Neverwinter Nights, Pool of Radiance, Temple of Elemental Evil... all these were eh... ok...

My opinion is that all the good Single Player RPGs are back on the SNES. You dont need hardcore graphics if the story and battle system is really good. Though don't get me wrong, when I saw EQ2 I wanted it just for the graphics. I can see how MMORPGs are better for the fact that social value of these games are higher and expansion and customization is much more advanced than any SP RPG.

You need to find a copy of Xenogears or borrow Chris' copy. Between me and Chris we think it is one of the only games that can come close to rivaling FF7. IMO I think it does. Working on Xenosaga right now... I don't think it is a good game, but not as epic as Xenogears. Try it out, but be foreworn, the game is extremely rare. Ebay prices last I've checked are still high for the game. I'm hoping Square will re-release it as a greatest hits, but still if you can find it cheap or get Chris to loan you his copy; it is worth the hours to play. ^_^
