WC3 is still alive and kicking in 2008. If you've played any of the mods, you know there's some pretty good potential out there. I'm a fan of Hero and Line Wars, Hero Wars, and a few of the others like DiabloEX. However, i r played a new one tonight that kickin.

If you've ever played Civilization, you know its a super complex game that takes weeks/months to play through properly. I lose my attention span after a few days but loved the technology concept. Well, some fool has made a mod for WC3 that emulates it supurbly. So now, you have a real time edition of Civ that isn't overwhelming.

If any of you play WC3 mods, or are at least interested in giving it a wurl, give me a shout. This one has mad hax.

how does WC3 play? Mass resource handling or is it more generals style

In the base game, there are two resources. Both which expire over time, limiting the total gameplay. Custom maps can change these parameters. I'd say it's basic resource management. You have to expand resources but not very often.

The mods have nothing to do with the actual gameplay though. Each mod has its own independent style. Thus, if you bought the game for $20, you're effectively buying about 1000+ mini games. Some of these mini games can take hours to play and won't bore you for months while others will make you suicide in 15 minutes.

If anyone ever needs a good CD Key Grabber for Warcraft III and/or The Frozen Throne, one is attached. Start the cd key grabber than attempt to play an online or LAN game and the key will resolve.
