I'm thinking that FPS popularity on console is growing with online capability getting better for consoles. You can guarantee that a game for a console will work out of box without having to worry about having to upgrade PC parts. Personally, I'd rather stick with the PC. I like my keyboard and mouse (though those are available for console use now as well :S) With mods, patches PC still rules over console for most game genres. Example that comes to mind is Oblivion, the XBOX version doesn't have the capabiliity to be modded and they still haven't patched the game breaking bug that was fixed immediately for the PC. Why a patch over XBOX Live can't be done immediately is beyond me. Though what about those people that don't have broadband connection... Yeah...
I'm actually waiting for Holiday season to come around for Half Life 2 Holiday Set that will include the new Episode 2, Portals, and Episode 1 which I haven't bought yet. I enjoyed HL2 story line, and want to play through the additional expansions.
