NVIDIA has always made trash...and I can talk since I've purchased their flagship before and not some middle line card...NV never makes a quality card...always pushing the limits~ they're liek teh AMD :tap:

Ever tried to perform any type of actual function with a video card besides use it to play mindless games? $100 ATi cards that are six years old can do what NV still can't do stable...drivers? NV has had a horrible track record on drivers forever. They actually cleaned up once but they've lost that edge again now too.

The whole hope which one of our vendors can follow the spec sheet right this time sucks big time too...at least with ATi maintaining their line, other vendors are forced to raise standards on cards to sell high end. Lifespan is a big problem for NV cards too. Historically, they've never made a card that would out last a ATi.

ATi has the business market they need to keep their technology and business model in the right place. The success of their new chipsets & multimedia line has ensured they will be around for years to come. NV is hoping just to make it through the Microsoft lawsuits...

Even though I no longer support the ATi driverless empire, they did just smash teh records with the Radeon HD 3870 X2, which is two 3x00 chips on one card. Single PCB Crossfire yo~ However, at this point, when do you start considering power usage?

Running AOE3 at max resolution, the new ATi card consumes 357W alone. The second runner up 8800 Ultra consumes 309 at same settings so it isn't just one stray...I always wondered if I had pissed away $300 when I bought that kickin PC Power and Cooling PS but it looks to be the only way to fly at the current rate of video card consumption.
