Use a crossfire edition card along with a crossfire ready card and mobo, hook up dongle. done.

Very competitive with SLI. Instead of each card rendering horizontal halves, you can have cards rendering alternate frames, or supertiling.

Crossfire also works with any D3D or Open GL game, or so they say.

Seems viable since ATI whips the living shit out of Nvidia

You just now ran into that eh? I've been watching that for a full two years now laughing my head off at people that buy SLI setups. ATI's setup runs at a hardware level with nothing more than a puny driver. So you can actually notice the difference all the time and not just when your playing your SLI enabled game. They don't take special chipsets either...just a board with two PCIx slots, which companies like Asus have been pumping out for well over a year. I had my crossfire board before crossfire was even a released technology. I think the part I like the most is you can mix any card you want...don't have to buy two x1900's to get a working array. Just as long as she has a crossfire chip, she's happy.

yeah i love the supertileing function, gives each card 1/2, but the it's set up like a checkerboard, each card getting a certain color square, this enables for something like 14x AA

freakin insane

I might play with it and some entry level cards later in life since it won't cost anything but the cards~ always have been kinda fond of ATI.
