Heat isn't a problem in datacenters since they all have Herbert systems. Their entry level unit effectively cools 20+ full racks and any center that has more than 20 racks won't buy entry level anyway...

Thank god that will never make it in the commercial world since noise doesn't matter...water cooling is overdoing it in the most stupid manner possible. Most people doing it these days think it's a bragging right...

watercooling becomes necessary when the CPU puts out more than 100W steady. There's only so big a heatsink can get you know.

CPU's can only take so much heat... with AMD, keep the core below 60* and your pretty safe from BSOD
i would personally not go above 50* for the CPU's longevity

Now if you wanna run cool and have this hanging off your HS bracket and tote the comp around (ahem, to lan parties), you risk the heatsink breaking the motherboard (or bracket).

If you think cooling isnt important open your comp and take the heatsink off then try to boot up.

What do you think keeps intel or amd from making the faster chip? heat.
what's an easy way to get rid of heat? watercooling. why do you think your car engine is water cooled? if it was still air cooled it wouldn't run as clean, and it's displacement would be limited.

Those morons that bought the cheaper processor to overclock and get more performance could have used the money they wasted on water cooling to buy a better processor the first time lol

Your comparing entire different class processors to each other that perform entirely different...when are you gonna learn that there's more to a computer than the processor?

headstrong:
Did you get him the XP-90 copper or aluminum? I use the aluminum XP-90 with a Delta fan and it weighs less than the factory heat sink did and cools execptionally well. Not to mention, she's a pretty looking heatsink too that adds to the lighting effect of my system~

The aluminum. There's really no need to get the heavy, expensive copper HS at this point. Put a 92mm Tornado on it and a Vantec fanbus. Very cool.
